Our Director Fadil Hannan, was interviewed by The Sunday Times along with his collaborator in Cambridge Dr Alecia-Jane Twigger, on the science they are conducting to explain why some women face difficulties in breastfeeding.
LRF-OCEHL have published a paper showing how insulin resistance (a clinical condition affecting around 40% of women of reproductive age) may impact lactation.
Congratulations to Bryony and Michelle on their recent successes at the recent British Endocrine Societies (BES) meeting.
It is widely recognised that breastfeeding improves child development and the long-term health of the mother. Less is known about the hormones that work to ensure successful milk production. We aim to further understand these molecular mechanisms in order to produce better and more evidence-based support for breastfeeding mothers.
